Voor onze opdrachtgever zoeken wij een creatieve en praktische Product Design Engineer die ideeën weet om te zetten in hoogwaardige, tastbare producten. Je werkt binnen een klein, multidisciplinair developmentteam en krijgt veel verantwoordelijkheid: van de eerste schetsen en prototypes tot testen, samenwerking met leveranciers en opschaling naar serieproductie.

De functie?

• Ontwerpen en technisch uitwerken van nieuwe kinderfiets-, outdoor- en sneeuwproducten, van concept tot en met productie
• Hands-on werken met CAD (SolidWorks), prototypes, testen en validatie
• Verantwoordelijkheid nemen voor New Product Development-projecten binnen planning, budget en specificaties
• Intensief samenwerken met ontwerpers, engineers, leveranciers en testlaboratoria
• Bouwen en testen van prototypes en deze verbeteren op basis van echte gebruikersfeedback
• Ondersteunen bij leveranciersselectie, technische evaluaties en overdracht naar productie
• Waarborgen van kwaliteit, veiligheid en compliance gedurende het gehele ontwikkeltraject tot en met serieproductie
• Doorontwikkelen en optimaliseren van bestaande producten op ontwerp, kostprijs en prestaties
• Actief bijblijven op het gebied van materialen, productietechnieken en relevante wet- en regelgeving

Wat vragen wij?

• Een afgeronde masteropleiding Industrial Design Engineering of een vergelijkbare technische opleiding
• Minimaal 2 jaar ervaring in productontwikkeling
• Ervaring met kunststof spuitgietdelen en metalen componenten
• Sterke 3D CAD-vaardigheden (bij voorkeur SolidWorks) en ervaring met technisch tekenen
• Ervaring met Adobe 2D-ontwerptools
• Ervaring binnen kinderproducten, fiets-, sport- of outdoorindustrie is een grote pré
• Een hands-on, oplossingsgerichte mindset: je bouwt, test en verbetert graag
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden en een echte teammentaliteit
• Vloeiend in Engels, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk

Your Mission

For our client, we are looking for a creative and practical Product Design Engineer who enjoys turning ideas into high-quality, tangible products. You will be part of a small, multidisciplinary development team and take significant ownership — from initial sketches and prototypes to testing, supplier collaboration, and scaling up to mass production.

What You Will Do

• Design and engineer new child bike, outdoor, and snow products from concept through to production
• Work hands-on with CAD (SolidWorks), prototypes, testing, and validation
• Take ownership of New Product Development projects within timelines, budgets, and specifications
• Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, suppliers, and test laboratories
• Build and test prototypes and improve them based on real user feedback
• Support supplier selection, technical evaluations, and transfer to production
• Drive quality, safety, and compliance throughout the entire development process up to mass production
• Improve and optimize existing products in terms of design, cost, and performance
• Stay up to date with new materials, manufacturing techniques, and relevant regulations

What You Bring

• A completed master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering or a related technical field
• At least 2 years of experience in product development
• Experience with plastic injection-molded parts and metal components
• Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) and experience with technical drawings
• Experience with Adobe 2D design tools
• Experience in child products, bicycle, sports, or outdoor industries is a strong plus
• A hands-on, problem-solving mindset — you enjoy building, testing, and improving
• Strong communication skills and a true team-first attitude
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
